Episode 77
What do we not need to talk about this week? So much going on! Simmo sacked, the eagles are rebuilding, the demon is hurt, Katy Perry is the GF entertainment and we are just scratching the surface with that.
Speaker 1
I want the North Melbourne dollar fifty line so I think there should be a nice little plus market here for them. Sports bet have plus 26 1/2.
Speaker 2
Finally playing the game. It's going to be season that gets it out. They're cancerous. They're gonna be off football.
Speaker 3
From the candy?
Speaker 1
Man, all right. Where are we, candy man?
Speaker 3
We're gonna definitely put this one in 100% on.
Speaker 1
Back. OK. Well, that's gonna lose. But, hey, what do we got, Sandy, man?
Speaker 3
Geelong to win $1.52.
Speaker 4
Close to Bose siren. The cats are back.
Speaker 1
Stars, as in the learned friends have provided ones and stars is on board, so we're gonna race 2 Belmont. #3 snazzier should sit closer from barrier 3. We'll be placing dollar 70. Snazzy.
Speaker 5
Great Hoya, the great Hoyer from Capricorn Man I fancy. Go third Russian sniper might be from property in behind those. Next of all is Pearly Nuggets Nazli King sick.
Speaker 1
Friend of the podcast Irvine needs to bounce back. He's going to Brisbane versus Adelaide. He wants the 150 Brisbane versus Adelaide.
Speaker 4
Yeah, they've lost no admirers. The Adelaide Crows, but they've lost the dime and the Brisbane Lions owned the current bit win streak in the AFL. I want that alright.
Speaker 6
Change your mind like a girl. Change is closed. Yeah. Are you? Like a ***** I would know. And you? Everything always be. I should know. Good for men.
Speaker 2
Cause your heart.
Speaker 6
Light is back and it's.
Speaker 1
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the channel. My name's Jesus. I'm here with Brownie, and this is your front centre podcast, your home. I'll be getting some bands. She's 2023, Scott. How are you, mate?
Speaker 3
I'm very, very, very, very, very, very happy to be.
Speaker 1
Right.
Speaker 7
Well, it's a bit weird.
Speaker 1
Because I've now got a candle and a phone looking at me and I can't see your head because I'm shorter than you and it's weird and I'm looking at and it really makes me nervous.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
I can't. I can't. Again, we're trying something just with the camera for a bit. This won't be up. We're just testing something out, so hopefully I can get it all sorted. We are on YouTube, but there's no video of us. You'll just look at a picture of us so you can listen to us on YouTube.
Speaker 1
If friend of the podcast.
Speaker 9
My name's Carl from down South. I've been off the grid five days, getting in touch with nature and probably myself.
Speaker 3
I've got costs here something.
Speaker 1
So we need him. We need him to do better artwork, if that's all people can see when they're listening to us on YouTube. Cost do better.
Speaker 3
Like that new soundboard to.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Speaking of that, I have something later on we can talk about that.
Speaker 1
Well, there's so much happening.
Speaker 7
Because we're missing.
Speaker 3
We're missing the little segue that I did there. The segue. Let's start straight into it. Katy Perry, Hot and cold.
Speaker 8
Well.
Speaker 1
Yeah, we'll start with that. Alright, so Katy Perry, hot and cold, we are hot and cold. Katy Perry, AFL Grand Final entertainment. So they obviously have gone from kiss Robbie Williams and they had delta up there. They've got delta schmelter.
Speaker 3
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Let's go for the big guns and Katy Perry 5 meal for Katy Perry. Yep.
Speaker 3
What does this mean? My first GFR E?
Speaker 1
So my first grand final pregame entertainment, Muhammad Ali Muhammad Ali, 1998. He didn't. Yeah, he might have actually done better, but now we actually got Mark Seymour and Holy Grail as well. So yeah, that was ripping and we obviously I was that was 1998. So that was North Melbourne.
Speaker 3
What? What did he sing? That would have been that would have been. For you was.
Speaker 1
Sydney, I was gonna say Tom Brady, but we had Mike Brady there. One day in September and it was old school football. That was when you could go paint your face, be 17 years old and go to the bar and they'd be, yeah.
Speaker 3
And get voice. Yeah. Good. Quick shout out as well to our man for who we're going to have on next week. I hope he I didn't send him a message yesterday. Because the man's doing great things with the Olympic. Pics with his podcast path to Paris, part of the backpack panel.
Speaker 1
Yeah, but even greater things he comes and spends one week on the Front Centre podcast talking about how he really wants to up his career and start calling games. And one week after the Front Centre podcast, this happens.
Speaker 3
You know.
Speaker 10
On the wing, players on in the middle, it's a dangerous kick. He takes it on. It doesn't quite get to ride. Tyre balls in dispute Baker there for the Tigers. We're in the middle. Of the ground as well that Curtis does really well.
Speaker 1
Nankervis did really well but before he put up a great tweet where he got to call the game with his father's binoculars and the last time he wore them or they were used was when his old man called. I believe it was one of the grand finals. I can't remember if yeah, I'm probably getting that wrong but.
Speaker 3
Hey. Hey, yeah, well done for it. Yeah, I've got it.
Speaker 1
Congrats to foree so. Before he's coming back next week, so you know what that means? We are. You have to do some research so.
Speaker 3
Yeah. So we're going to talk some Olympics. I'll try. I have to find just know some Olympians. Is that all?
Speaker 1
Yeah, so yeah, but I think there's a lot more women going this Olympics than past Olympics. We got a lot of teams in. So I've been doing a bit of research for some random sports. We're going to do good.
Speaker 3
You want me to do?
Speaker 1
Artistic swimming for the women's teams event.
Speaker 3
Artistic swimming.
Speaker 1
Yeah. So it's not called synchronised swimming anymore. It's called artistic swimming. I'm sure they've got a name. I don't know what it is. I couldn't find it, but watch out for them. This is the sort of gear we're gonna come with. Random stuff. There's break dancing, there's BMX, there's all sorts.
Speaker 3
OK. Yeah.
Speaker 8
OK.
Speaker 3
But yeah, go listen to this podcast.
Speaker 1
Rock climbing.
Speaker 3
To his podcast, part of the Back Channel path to Paris. Good. Listen there. Speaking of which, just very, very quickly. Was actually out and walking trying to get out of the house, listening to different podcasts, just trying to compare and also pick up some ideas. By the way, our podcast is way better than so many other footy podcasts out there. I listen to it and go. We're better than this. This is horrible. So thanks for listening, everybody. And if you can just pass this on to people and be like this podcast.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Listen to how good we are.
Speaker 11
Yeah.
Speaker 3
It's better because I think it is.
Speaker 1
Like share support and there will be a listening party one day.
Speaker 3
Speaking of parties Saturday night recap, please.
Speaker 1
Wow. Meeting of some great minds. They are worlds align sometimes and just random people, not random mate. Someone we all just ended up at the same place. So friend of the podcast Milka, you may as well play as play his music. While we're gonna talk about him.
Speaker 3
Ohh God, hold on. Everything's there. It is.
Speaker 12
It's me.
Speaker 3
I've got a new soundboard, so if I stuff up tonight, that's why yes.
Speaker 1
It's it's back to the good old days. So yeah, Milko was up school holidays with the family watching the footy. Good win for him. And then for the podcast Irvine was was at the foot, was at the footy and friend of the podcast, Joshua Jew, Jason Jaworski was there. So we ended up going to crown and watching the soccer and it was a meeting of the minds there was.
Speaker 3
That's good.
Speaker 1
Great conversations, some great shirtless, some Freo banter, some Sydney banter, some hawthorn banter and then we went to the sports bar to watch the soccer and it was madness. So this was England versus Switzerland. They had the sports bar area roped off and Milko was there early, so Milko got to pass out. So we actually.
Speaker 3
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Pass the pass back to get us all in. So we got in and it was about 2/3 full and it would have about 1000 Angry English supporters losing their mind watching. A Polish Australian, a late Grace Australian and a Perth Australian sitting there drinking beers, talking ****, barely watching the football, looking at the races and quite easily getting a beer. And they were fuming and obviously it got out of control of that game because Switzerland scored. Then England got one back, then it went to penalties and there was a lot of nude. And walking around the casino. Yeah, at that. That was 2:55 AM in the sports bar because apparently it's coming home and well, after last night, it might be because.
Speaker 3
The video that you showed me as a man with your shirt off.
Speaker 8
Then.
Speaker 1
The the umpiring think about the umpiring and the football. Gee, where's the umpiring and the soccer's outrageous so.
Speaker 3
That song. Yeah. So there might be a bit more to that with. Timmy's tips line that we'll see.
Speaker 1
Yeah, well, I'm sure they will be. But he's. Hey, Timmy's tips, England is still there, so good on him and we hope we'll all be cheering for Spain on the weekend, so let's Go. Yeah.
Speaker 3
In Spain, so we do, obviously there's a big event that happened. We're going to discuss that part. We're gonna have a beer because there's a lot to discuss about the event that happens.
Speaker 1
Well, there's there's this week has been absent.
Speaker 3
It's been mean.
Speaker 1
Absolute mad. So I've got a list of about seven things we could possibly talk about.
Speaker 3
So have a beer and we'll talk about. Obviously we're talking about Adam Simpson gone, but quickly that's just very, very, very, very quickly recap the footy on the weekend. I'm going to start obviously with the Saints upset the Swans out and the message I sent you on.
Speaker 12
And you were giving him no chance.
Speaker 3
Sunday as well.
Speaker 1
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Said do you now, can you understand how frustrating it is as a Saints supporter that we can pull that out?
Speaker 1
But mate, you're preaching.
Speaker 3
But yeah, absolutely you would understand.
Speaker 12
Cool.
Speaker 1
Slide.
Speaker 3
Heaney out agree. Disagree. Just quickly before I don't want any Benny areas. Just.
Speaker 1
So the rule got changed start of the year suspension.
Speaker 3
Yes. OK. And Logan missed again, but he made the distance. So if you did that against Freo as you said, and didn't try to kick the cover off the ball.
Speaker 1
Yeah, exactly. Do his routine would have been fine, but. Now you're like. You get a stigma attached to you. If he happens again.
Speaker 3
It's really mind games, isn't it?
Speaker 1
It's. I don't know. He's gotta get he needs me and you to teach him a new routine. That's what he needs.
Speaker 3
Not me. People tried to do that with me and that got in my head. Even more, yeah, but it's.
Speaker 1
As long as you're not doing snap. Kicks. All right.
Speaker 3
It's it's just a. Yeah, that's true. It's just amazing what pressure can do watching that same game anyway, busy with the biggest winning streak, as it said in the intro. Yeah, biggest winning streak currently.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I'm, I said I'm I'm on board. Let's go. So didn't help us. They put the queue in. The rat, got a few injuries.
Speaker 3
Yep. Hi, good.
Speaker 1
But I mean couple of the other ones. Obviously bombers came home strong over the pies. Where are they at? They lose a game, they lose their mind. N I've been on the bandwagon and I'm still going strong. I like what they're doing. Obviously you were well off the bandwagon. The Bulldogs got absolutely obliterated by Port Adelaide and as I expected, I think we all expected Geelong too good for Hawks.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
And obviously, yeah. Carlton, what?
Speaker 3
Blew. They blew a massive quarter tone.
Speaker 1
And I think this is the thing, right? We know the Giants are undermanned, but their best is still very, very good. And the Blues may be.
Speaker 3
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Just a little bit ahead of them. Also Frio a lot what a Jeremy Sharpe kick away from being second on the.
Speaker 3
Ladder. There's a lot we, I mean the AFL fixture at the moment, like fair play Hawthorn. What round are we in now?
Speaker 11
That.
Speaker 1
So yeah, so I I did. I did note the fixture. Yeah, there's many. It's in the bin, but there's 1818 around 18, there's thirteen games, 13 games that haven't happened yet and it's round 18. And you know what?
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, I got you.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
So yeah, yeah. Yeah, crazy.
Speaker 1
Only 17 times you can possibly apply that.
Speaker 3
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 13
It can't be that hard.
Speaker 1
But as we said, it was Essendon verse Freo, like twice in about four weeks.
Speaker 3
Yeah, and Sydney Freo as well. Yeah, Sydney. Yes. Well, Essen and Collingwood were the same around ANZAC days. Yeah, so, yeah. Anyway, that's that's a big.
Speaker 1
That's what I meant, Sidney. Frank. I knew it was one. Of them, yeah. Sydney Frio. Could have said something very bad there, but I pulled my head in there.
Speaker 3
So good. So that's a that's. A big round of footy, we got a big round of head and obviously. Simo went, but we're going to discuss that after we've had.
Speaker 8
This slowly. Oh, my God. Why every time.
Speaker 14
Alright.
Speaker 8
Let's give.
Speaker 1
Spell this I know. So I did catch up with the Ohh Jesus. Ohh no. Ohh. Alright. Yeah, alright, so.
Speaker 3
So to make sure that was coming through. It's a new series.
Speaker 1
What? No. Well, hang on. It's not. It's almost one of the teens was not there. So we're gonna have to.
Speaker 8
Yes.
Speaker 1
Somehow find the. Last ten. Yeah. So brownies gonna do that? I said worse.
Speaker 3
They they did say they will have them back. So I went to Scarborough cells today during the day. Yeah. They said they don't have any at the moment. They are getting more in.
Speaker 14
Gotcha.
Speaker 1
So. So we're now gonna we've sort of been going down the path of all the fruity stuff. Yeah, we're now we might need a new board because we're now gonna go. Brownie brought this to me about two seconds before the pod. Nothing like pre planning. I like planning. I like to know what's happening. Brownie just springs **** on me some if I didn't like it, you'd be in a bit of trouble. But so we've got something new. We've.
Speaker 3
Yeah, that's. I love it. I'd like to derail it.
Speaker 1
Got a bit of a new. A new track with the.
Speaker 3
It's almost like a new season of beers where.
Speaker 1
It is, but I mean we're obviously still open to suggestions. If you've got fruity beers and I think friend of the podcast Michael Duckworth, shout out to him, I think he's in Sydney this week. He said he sent one through to you.
Speaker 3
Ohh yeah, you would not like that. I'll find it.
Speaker 1
Yeah, that's what he said. He goes. You love it. I go. And as soon as you said that, I know that's gonna be the sweetest thing I've.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
I will. I have to find it first. I will get it. I do have that.
Speaker 1
Ever had? Yeah, yeah. So we will get them, but now we're going down a different area. We want you cheap. We want you nasty. We want the cheapest beer.
Speaker 8
Yes.
Speaker 1
Yeah, you can find. Yeah. And we can review. So this one that Brownie got, did you say, Dan?
Speaker 3
Murphy's. Yeah. Dan Murphy's so members. Price is 12 bucks for a six pack. 3 bucks A can. Pretty good. So obviously they want you to. Buy this fat.
Speaker 1
The good thing? You're not a maths teacher.
Speaker 3
No, no. Well, they obviously want you to.
Speaker 1
Are they four pack or six pack and it's 12 bucks. 2 bucks A can.
Speaker 3
Sits back, so yeah. No, no. So if you buy the can individually, it's 3 bucks a can.
Speaker 1
OK. But if you buy.
Speaker 3
The six pack as a member.
Speaker 1
It's 12 bucks, which means $2.00 a can.
Speaker 3
It's 12 bucks. Yeah, I know, but if you. Buy the can individually 3.
Speaker 12
It's.
Speaker 6
You literally.
Speaker 3
That's what I said. Right? 12 bucks a six pack.
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3
3 bucks A can.
Speaker 1
Yeah, but that equals $2.00 A can.
Speaker 3
You know, that's what I mean. That's so you buy a six pack. Yeah, yeah, I know. But some people go in there and buy an individual can. I bought a six pack.
Speaker 1
Why would you go buy one? Can what?
Speaker 3
Well, that, hey, that's what I do with the deadly tins.
Speaker 1
Yeah, but you like.
Speaker 3
Too, yeah, exactly. And also just for reference, this six Pack 12 barks compared to one of the deadly tins, it's actually cheaper. You save yourself 3 bucks.
Speaker 1
It's probably the same.
Speaker 15
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Hi.
Speaker 1
So I'll go through what we've got here. We've got a Huey. So the main thing with Huey, just send it down. Real Aussie Lager, 100% Aussie Malt and Hops, Goldberg, NSW it goes. They give 2 bucks to to Aussie communities in need for every slab sold and it says refreshing, lightly hopped, easy drinking. So this is. Browning County Goulbourne by tribe breweries exclusively for Pinnacle Downs. It's in Waterloo Street, Surrey Hills, and there's a little blurb here. It says quench your thirst with a Huey. Could there be a better name for a beer named after the drought stricken Aussie Bushman's plea in 1912? Send her down, Huey, which quickly? Came our farmers plea for refreshing rain today. Huey delivers that thirst quenching refreshment and a lightly hopped and easy drinking brew. So bit of story there.
Speaker 3
Behind Huey's lightly hopped, easy drinking sounds good for me.
Speaker 1
I think this is probably gonna be more my area, so we might start to get a few. Ohh that was solid. Or or no.
Speaker 3
He still managed to spill it.
Speaker 1
Ohh. Just. Came up as a bubble. Why was There a bubble in my. Beer. I opened it. Just a bubble came out.
Speaker 8
And.
Speaker 1
This is looking more my gear.
Speaker 8
That's just a standard bill. See, look, bubble.
Speaker 3
That's it. That is easy drinking that.
Speaker 1
Yeah, it's pretty solid. Well, 4.4%, we normally have double that, yes. So. That'll probably disappear pretty quick, yeah.
Speaker 8
Look. Sure, policies.
Speaker 1
Straight batter. I reckon you look at that.
Speaker 3
Hazy IPA hop hog area. More goat area.
Speaker 1
Yeah, more goat area.
Speaker 3
Similar to go. Yeah, just. Yeah. No. So then you're not 50, is it? Furphy area with the seven.
Speaker 1
Not as three years ago. I think I prefer a furphy than this.
Speaker 3
OK. So it's this simple 6.5.
Speaker 1
Yeah, I think 6.5 straight back.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Good. There's some weird. I think it is. I don't know what's going on. Maybe I'm just.
Speaker 1
You bring in a miji in the place.
Speaker 3
My eyes anyway. Have you got your glasses yet?
Speaker 1
Where's your Prometric?
Speaker 3
Where I had no Thomas Christ appointment, I told you a while ago. I didn't end up going. I haven't booked. I have to sort it out.
Speaker 12
Yeah, I know. Where's the next one?
Speaker 1
Ohh my Lord, Ria Ripley is back and she's stolen your Sonny's.
Speaker 3
Yeah, I know. Yeah, she is back. Poor, dirty, dumb suspect.
Speaker 1
That was the. Last poor dirty job. Can I be dirty? Dom please wowsers.
Speaker 3
We've got more to talk about quickly. Yeah.
Speaker 1
You could have been dirty Dom if you shaved the other little beard. He's got The Dirty Dom mo.
Speaker 3
Yeah, well, that's what the look I'm trying to go for now. Dark moustache. And because my beard is pretty much turning grey. So that's where I'm going.
Speaker 1
Dirty dog. Yeah, maybe you can. Put a rinse through the. Beer. No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 3
No, I told you. Answers.
Speaker 1
No, fully grey. So then you can have like the Hulk Hogan.
Speaker 3
Hulk.
Speaker 1
Reverse Hulk Hogan.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah, I do like that. But we've got.
Speaker 1
You're probably about as good as Nick as Hulk Hogan is right now. As. Well, he's at about 25 back surgeries.
Speaker 3
There's some people. A is in better nick than me. Adam Simpson got sack this week. We've let's see how quickly we can get through this.
Speaker 1
Well, do we wanna do all the other stuff before we do, Simo? Because there's so much happening.
Speaker 3
Two, what's the other?
Speaker 1
Stuff. How? How Long's a piece of string? Alex demeanour injured quarter final.
Speaker 11
Yeah.
Speaker 7
Yep.
Speaker 3
I don't have that one.
Speaker 1
Hip I know. I just. I wrote a list. I hip. He last point of the match. 21. The Round 14 cracked his hip, took some fibre off. He's out. So he was supposed to play Djokovic last night? Had to pull out two hours before the game. So not good for demon or so.
Speaker
OK.
Speaker 3
Fire through that.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Where do we start? Brad shepherd. So. Obviously, yeah, but not not for Shepherd, though, because this came through today. So this has huge ramifications for sport in Australia. So for those playing at home, Brad Shepherd had to retire semi early from his football career for multiple concussions. He then left football and he moved up to Broome. I've got a bit of feedback here.
Speaker 3
If I even put these in the bin.
Speaker 5
No, no.
Speaker 3
Yeah. OK.
Speaker 1
Moved up to Broom and then he was working for Broom Toyota. And while he was working for Broome Toyota, he was basically behind the desk a lot, looking at the computer he could not do that job. He could not handle being inside, looking at the computer. So now he's doing. I think he might be doing what you're he's a. School teacher but.
Speaker 3
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Today it's come out. He is suing the AFL. He is suing the West Coast Eagles. He is suing 2 individual doctors at West Coast because of the result of the management of his condition. And him playing football. So Josh Carmichael was medically retired this week as result of concussion. And you wonder why Isaac Denny's a suspension. He had no chance of getting off when that happened. But I think this is really big news because this is gonna open the floodgates for many, many people. So all those people that have been retired. Angus Brice. Door. There was another one earlier this year as well. I escaped off the top of my head.
Speaker 3
They're O'Driscoll.
Speaker 1
Ohh Driscoll. Guy didn't even get to play a game, so if that's the recent ones, what about your platens your tucks, you dip your domenicos? This has the scope. Yeah, basically. You have enormous ramifications. It's obviously sort of happened in the NFL with the CTE and stuff for all.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Ohh yeah. Kaiser Williams.
Speaker 1
Lunatics going on there for all the stuff that's happened there, but this is massive ramifications for football, not just AFL, but throughout the country. You know, I've got a lot of mates who've got kids and stars were saying today sent shout out to stars, he said. The number of kids that wear helmets now at younger fobby is outrageous. So it's going to be really interesting to see how the.
Speaker 3
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1
AFL. Goes with this is there going to need to be like a? A pension put aside for these players, where out of your wage you get garnished one 1% or something that goes into the pool and if something like this happens, you will be taking care of cause. Venables has had an incident as well. It's a big thing like touch wood, I'm still.
Speaker 3
Surprises not yeah. The the other Western bulldog played in the Granny, Liam Picken. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we could just sit here and.
Speaker 1
Liam picken? Yeah, but that's just one of many, like. They're. Alright.
Speaker 3
Write their names off.
Speaker 1
And like it's just it could be game changing for the NFL on one how the games played, but two.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
The love of the guy because if this continues. We're going to have to be paying God knows how much money to not even go to go to the footy and take the footy in, so just thought that was big, big news. So people are suing people as well. So news, Ollie Ollie's old manager Neil Pinner, was apparently pillaging money off him. So Ollie. Damian Oliver, our mate munak.
Speaker 3
Not me, 20 of those. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Is sewing his. Ex. Best friend and racing manager for $4 million. So he apparently had control over Oliver's accounts. He was buying properties, he was paying rent, he was paying his own cards. Really nasty. So Ollie's taking him for four. Million and that's just mental. Like the fact that you can trust someone. It's not Shohei Otani. Areas where we spoke about that, but that's just crazy, absolute madness. So that's happened. And then obviously today, if you want to hit the button.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Which button are we talking about? Hold on.
Speaker 1
Cat chat.
Speaker 3
Ohh Yep, hold on, we're jumping.
Speaker 1
I told you we got a lot to talk.
Speaker 7
About, let's just.
Speaker 1
Get it out first.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
So it's come out today that Craig Hutchinson and the SN group have got a binding agreement with Mark Arena, so Mark Arena is a tech guru. He is buying the Wildcats. I think 95% valued at $40 million. He is buying 52.2% up front. Once things go through, there's obviously a few boxes to tick.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Hopefully being a WA person living in Perth understands basketball. Understands the cats.
Speaker 3
Hopefully that's the thing. Understands the Wildcats and understands their fans.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. So and which I think he would so and look, I'm not throwing shade on hutchie. Hutchie had to make a business decision and obviously he's rapidly expanded his SDN network and look he the right time to sell is now considering what he bought it for the exposure of the NBA is getting with Alexander Sarr and all the people playing and you know.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 1
People are wanting to come and play here, like our mate Ethan or Ethan or our mansoora or what. We're gonna, whatever. We're gonna call him the gentleman. So he didn't wanna get draught. He wanna reply. Yeah. So look, there's lots of good teams, lots of good players in this league. The league is very marketable and it's fantastic. And for the cats to have a local person who is.
Speaker 3
Yep, Yep. Yeah, the gentleman.
Speaker 1
Interested in getting involved? One that he can afford it and two. He knows what we are. I think it's exciting for us. So we'll be going. It's probably coming closer now. What about 3 months away? Wow. That's hopefully it's not Grand final Eve again the first game.
Speaker 3
The people.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
September Yep. I have a feeling it might be.
Speaker 1
Cause that was nasty, so wasn't that nasty.
Speaker 3
It was, yeah, it wasn't fun. I want we want beer pong, so I and I've got. I've got. I've got naked. That was interesting.
Speaker 1
Ohh, maybe maybe that's what you needed. You've got naked a few times at. Times House, by the way.
Speaker 3
So that was like a. It was like a binge session as well, because then it went into. It does matter. Yeah, we digress. So Simon's gone. So that's obvious.
Speaker 1
Yeah. We got we now get. Do you wanna just hit the AFL and we'll just? Roll into the games after this.
Speaker 3
Well, I've still got a question, Tom. So, so just quickly, we'll go, Simo first because I know that way I can keep people on because I know they really wanna are waiting for Question Time and then they tune out after that. So Simo basically where to now?
Speaker 1
Ohh sorry, do you wanna do question. Time first you know.
Speaker 13
1st.
Speaker 1
OK. Mate and. They don't wanna listen, they don't. Wanna listen to our bad takes on Simo?
Speaker 3
Hate. She's year off, then free. Yeah, it's gonna free. Oh, you reckon?
Speaker 1
That's my. That's my theory. So. Well, well for mine. Right. So logic my logical thinking. His children have grown up here. They're now young adults. He owns his two hungry Jacks. One of them is at the Carlisle Hungry Jacks. You know, the one on Orion Rd. Do you ever drive ever.
Speaker 8
Now.
Speaker 1
So on roads, quite a busy artery that when you go Graham Farmer freeway and you come through and you keep going South, that's Orong Road. And when you come in the other way Carl on 8 shades on the left. So yeah so, so so g'day to Simo. So he's gotta look after you, says James obviously take some time out take this year off go.
Speaker 8
Yes. Yeah. OK.
Speaker 3
There you go. Should I just?
Speaker 1
Few of the boys and just go Europe have a Bender. I'm not sure that Simon's are MO, but I think for mine if he's a WA now, WA is home for him.
Speaker 3
No.
Speaker 1
It's a no brainer for him to go to. Yeah. So he would obviously have close relationships with people at Fremantle and I think obviously Longmuir only got the one year extension. So if he gets his foot in the door, he's obviously got a close relationship with Peter Bell. If for some stupid reason **** hit the fan at Frio.
Speaker 8
Hey, Smith.
Speaker 1
He would be in a good position and also being a mentor to Justin Longmuir I think couldn't hurt. He understands the. He understands the game, he has good relationships. It's a lot. Local still local for him because I don't think he will be away from football. I think he will still be around football because it's pretty much his life. I mean, he might go back to Victoria and well, good on him. In reality he won a good job. He won a good job. He won a flag. He did.
Speaker 8
Right.
Speaker 1
A good job, but through not circumstances. Not his. Vault things were not coming up his way.
Speaker 3
So there are so many options for him. Does it? I mean that's, I mean, there's so many options for him N play.
Speaker 1
What do you think?
Speaker 3
Coached under Clarko at Hawthorn, could he go back to north under Clarko again to help them to a flag and part of that because he loves the club. I listened to the Talking footy interview with him and he does still love the Kangas so obviously big ship.
Speaker 13
Maybe.
Speaker 1
Yeah, maybe. Oh, sure. Well hence why he went over there and had some beers. And the fans. Were up in on the clubs. Bye.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, 90 and an interesting one I saw today as well. Was if West Coast make a move on Josh Carr, does that then force Port Adelaide to make their decision about?
Speaker 1
Well that if. My top three that was going to be one of my things I was.
Speaker 3
Oh boy.
Speaker 1
Going to talk about. So no, this is part all the stuff I was talking about, so I was gonna say Simon's done right. So we'll still talk a little bit more about Simo, but if you're West Coast.
Speaker 3
Where's that in the thing? Good. Oh, good, perfect.
Speaker 8
Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3
Where do you go?
Speaker 1
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Are you rebuilding?
Speaker 1
If you if you had everyone, yeah. And you could pick from. And you're a coach. Would you want this job?
Speaker 3
Well, that's the thing, right? Are they rebuilding now? Do they officially come out and say CEO? Thanks very much, McGovern.
Speaker 1
Well, hasn't you re signed?
Speaker 3
Yeah, but wasn't that there? The offer from Adelaide or something, but he did recently. Did he? OK, I missed that so.
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah. But I'm pretty sure. Re signed. Well, his well, his old man passed away, so unfortunately for.
Speaker 8
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1
For Elliot, but for mine. You look at the side this week, Campbell Chester dropped finally. Jack darling on an extended bench. Scofield obviously has had a lot of success at Subiaco. I think he had five grand Finals, 3 flag wins in six years, so he can do the job with the right cattle. The thing for mine is they haven't bottomed out yet because I did a bit of research and if I've got this.
Speaker 3
Flags. Yep.
Speaker 7
Yep.
Speaker 1
Listen to some of these names. These are their players under 24. Yep. Baker. Who the heck is that? Jordan Baker. Harry Barnett, Rep Bazo, Tyler Brockman, Corey, Virgil Campbell, Chester Jai, Carly Tyrell dua, Harry Edwards, Luke Edwards, Ruben, Jimmy Clay Hall. Elijah Hewitt who's injured again. But we'll get to that. Brady, Hoff. Callum Jamieson. Harvey.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 1
Johnson, Noah. Long, Ryan. Marriage lock, Rollinson, Archer, Reed, Harley Reed, Zane, True Bailey, Jay Williams, the future, Jack Williams, Jake Hutchinson.
Speaker 3
Well, if you listen to Simo on talking footy as well, he said that age bracket is where they don't have. The depth and the talent, sorry.
Speaker 1
Correct. So you know what that means. They haven't bottomed out yet. There's still a way to go. They rely too much on Yo McGovern. Yep. Oscar Allen. Barrass Duggan. Yeah. Shannon, Shannon Hearn. Luke. Should we last here?
Speaker 3
Bottom out. Yes. We. Yep. And last year it was like Chewy as well. We've been screaming. Yeah, blue was screaming this from the rooftops last year, and now all the West Coast fans are going ohh get off his back. It's not his fault. Our list of ****, it's.
Speaker 1
Correct.
Speaker 3
Ohh really. Ohh.
Speaker 14
Yeah.
Speaker 1
So you hear that right and out of that whole list, right, Elijah Hewitt aside because he hasn't really had a chance. Is there anyone bar Harley Reid that is going to take their game to the next level? No, jimmy'z improved a little bit. Hoff has done very well. He's improved. But you look at the rest of that list, obviously a lot of players with no experience yet, but how?
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 1
Is that going to improve?
Speaker 3
You've gotta come in as a coach if you're taking that club and going, we're rebuilding and I'm making these moves and I like. Do you got cause someone like Stewie Jew. Right. Let's say they go down his path. He doesn't want that because he just did that with Gold Coast. He's gonna go well, I'm gonna get you to a point, then you probably gonna shove me.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. Mark Harvey, esque.
Speaker 3
Yeah. So like.
Speaker 1
So here's the thing for me, right, if you're we'll go through a few. Yeah. But if you're like an untried coach, why would you want this job? Because it's like Adam, who's a. This is worse than Adam Oozer. Adam, who's in a bad spot right now. Don't get me wrong.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 3
Yeah.
Speaker 1
I think this is worse because they are starting at the bottom and they are going to be ahead of Eagles. Getting rid of all those players. You need to pull the trigger now before Tasmania comes in, get all your picks now or you are in a world of pain. So for mine, if your Eagles, who is your number one priority, if you.
Speaker 3
Oh yeah. Preaching quiet.
Speaker 1
Say. You could have any available coach right now. Who would you take?
Speaker 3
What? Jeez.
Speaker 1
I have one name and it's clearly ahead of everyone. It will not happen, but I have one name that is miles ahead of everyone.
Speaker 3
As in, like coaching right now.
Speaker 1
No, I said available coach. So available to coach.
Speaker 3
I I've said this and I've said this many times, I think someone like Mark Williams, Mark Choco Williams is a great developmental coach. That's what you heard when he went to Port Adelaide to what you're hearing when he's at Melbourne and when he was at Richmond as well. So I.
Speaker 1
As of today. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3
Will be going for someone like him.
Speaker 1
So I have one name and this man is built for the environment he is built for the big time. He has a track record of being able to build a list. And he will hold people accountable, which we'll talk about later. That man, Nathan Buckley. Yeah. If you could get anyone, I would get Buckley. Yeah. Will he want to come here? Hell, no. Will it happen? Hell, no. But for where they're at right now, Buckley is what they need.
Speaker 3
Being touted for Tassie as well, but.
Speaker 1
Yeah, of course. So apart from that. If they go and tried coaches, this is the domino that triggers go. So does that mean you know we have a Hawthorn Sam Mitchell situation where Port Adelaide Josh Carr's interested? Uh, we've gotta sign him or. Dean Cox is interested up. Gotta sign him or if you're free. Oh, Jamie Graham. Ohh. Gotta sign him on. If you Carlton. Ash Hanson. I've gotta sign him cause they're the names that are getting thrown around. Gene Syracusa is another one that I think is highly touted as well. But if I'm West Coast.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
I want an outside. Voice I don't want because obviously Cox is obviously the favourite, so he's a.
Speaker 3
Yeah, 100%.
Speaker 1
Friend of Pikes, they were both at Sydney assistant coach. He's well loved. He's. A good bloke and the fans if they want to keep the fans a little bit happy and keep. Them at Bay. He's an easy crack. Milco was chuckling. Maybe Don Pikes going to flip the. Script and just go I got.
Speaker 12
This boys, and I'm gonna.
Speaker 3
They definitely won't. Again, why would you?
Speaker 1
Take over. Yeah, exactly. But for mine, personally, I'm not an Eagle supporter. A lot of the Eagle supporters love their own. So I've been hearing a lot of Dean Cox's wanted. Yeah, I would get an outside voice. It's a strong personality. That won't put up with all the **** that's been going on. And so if you could pull a trigger and get a tried coat.
Speaker 3
Yeah.
Speaker 1
That would be my preferred option for them. So your options when you look at who's available for tried coaches who are still in jobs right now, bottom 10, Ken. Ken Hinckley.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you.
Speaker 1
Bevo.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 1
They're probably the two that have been around a while that are probably on thin ice where they are, but.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 13
Do you want them? Probably not.
Speaker 3
So we need to move on because we've been talking for 35.
Speaker 1
But we knew this would happen. We precluded this before the pot. But what about you? Who? Who do you have in the mix? You know, that's one name. You gotta have more than that.
Speaker 3
Minutes already so.
Speaker 8
So.
Speaker 3
I just told you I I'll be taking much of it was. I don't. I don't know Dean Cox, Ashley Hansen, all those guys. And Jane, as you mentioned, Jamie Graham, because Danny Graham has been there and has coach knows the club, so it's all speculation what they need to come. What?
Speaker 1
Jamie Grimes, he's already won a he's already won a game.
Speaker 3
I'm saying is they need to come out and say OK. Our next coach is going to take our club to the future. We're looking at a 10 year rebuild. They need to come out and say the word, rebuild until.
Speaker 1
Yeah, but I don't think I don't think they can until they've got a coach. It's gotta come from the coach. Can't come.
Speaker 3
They do that. You know then, if you're a coach, that's what you're going in with. Then we're rebuilding. But anyway, what the coach needs to, because you've got this here.
Speaker 1
From Dom Pike.
Speaker 3
And you sent me this to get played. So the one thing the club needs is leadership.
Speaker 13
Yeah.
Speaker 14
Correct.
Speaker 3
And there was a snippet that you sent from the Batchat podcast. Yeah, from Will Schofield. I was gonna say Jared.
Speaker 1
Yeah, I think, yeah. But for mine like this, what he says right now.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
What we said last week about the Eagles captains, yeah, is what is wrong.
Speaker 13
With the football club.
Speaker 3
Let's have a listen to this.
Speaker 14
Darren Glass, who used to sit behind my back left shoulder. Which should we flip them all up and he would have them playing and and you just hear glass, you go. Oh, stop it there. Bring it back. Everyone watch. Go watch his effort here and I, you know, I might have chased or whatever it was made when we're on a journey after the wooden spoon young is like one of your size in the competition maybe it would be a regular occurrence on Monday just getting called out in front of the group. For me it would instil the fear to not let your teammates down and so when he got out there again you showed effort and that fear of Darren Glass's voice going. Hey, watch Scott. You just didn't want to be that guy. And so when he. Got on the field. You did things that were for your teammates and and looked after you. Whatever your role was like, it was instilled in, you had to know. I'm saying too many actions out there from West Coast players. They're not. They're not doing the team things.
Speaker 1
If that doesn't spell leadership, accountability, mateship and working together to try and achieve something great, I don't know what it is. And when you listen to a next player talk about the environment that that was where it was open, it was honest. And if you had. A problem you could discuss it with people and hold people accountable for their actions. That little snip tells you why they were so successful. When Usher and Darren Glass were in charge because.
Speaker 3
100%.
Speaker 1
Glassy. Obviously I know him, but he wasn't an angry man. No, wouldn't raise his voice, but he didn't have to. Because when he was when he was captain of me, when I was playing, and I did something wrong, he would pull you up. And obviously that's gone to the next level. But what did you take out of that little snippet when skull? He's like I'm watching players and not doing the team thing out.
Speaker 3
The respect death.
Speaker
Yeah.
Speaker 3
There. Oh well, 100%. That's what you want. You want the leadership and you want the. Owners on the player to as exactly as he said. I don't want to go out there and let the team down or stuff it up and I don't want to be in this situation. I want to be called out again, so I'll do everything I can to make sure I'm not. And it's funny. You watch that and there's another snippet around of him and Josh Kennedy, when they were training together.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3
And now, like we got to set the standard here, let's go. And Josh Kennedy was like, OK, we'll do it. And there's a little snippet on patch out of them talking about this as well. And so he's like tripping him and hammering him. And it was just one contest, and they kept going and going and going like.
Speaker 1
Bring one another.
Speaker 3
He's got that in his mind from from back when class was doing that. Who's doing that at West Coast? Is Oscar Allen sitting there going?
Speaker 1
It's just it's the mentality, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3
Want it back? Elijah Hewitt. Jimmy. What's this?
Speaker 1
Well, it's look, it's it's hard when you've got two voices, you've got Duggan and you've.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1
Alan. I'm not a big Co captain. I understand why it's there. That's cool. Obviously, I'm scrolling. It hurt all the time. So you need to. But I just think that is what you need. And obviously, I think what we're seeing with Hardwick and Clarkson going to these young clubs and the build that they're on, that is what I think West Coast needs. And obviously they're two of the hardest taskmasters going around and that's why I think Buckley will be good for them. But I think from where they're at and the hard yards, they need someone with a thick skinny can handle it, like poor Adam Moosey's getting smashed at the moment and. They need someone who's got gumption. They need someone who's got a spine. They need someone like a Ross, the boss who can handle the media, take all the heat off the players, which is what dimmer did on the weekend. Abusing the crap out of him because no one was talking about Gold Coast. They were talking about dimmer.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 3
And again, this is what we talked about, I think either last week or two weeks ago that something like Paul. Ruiz did for. Went in there. We're going through hard times. I'll take it. Clarko. We're going through hard times. I'll take it. Yeah. So you can't have Dean cops in there.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
And for his first 3-4 years, yeah.
Speaker 1
Designated early wins, whoever takes over if it's untried, coach they need early wins because otherwise look, look where look where Adam Moser is like crazy. But that's just my take. Obviously got your everyone's got that take. I hope you enjoyed that little simo talk about there's obviously more West Coast.
Speaker 3
Yeah, the meat, the West Australians gonna smash it? Yeah.
Speaker 1
Call me ******* read my handwriting.
Speaker 3
Honestly, we could have had a little separate podcast of just talking about that we probably actually could have sat down yesterday.
Speaker 1
Yeah.
Speaker 3
OK and done it. I would have loved it. I would have loved to.
Speaker
Well.
Speaker 1
It's good that you planned that the the date you would have, you would have planned that the day after like I was sitting here probably playing with myself. So no reason why you couldn't have come and done that so.
Speaker 3
Have got out of the house.
Speaker
I would have loved.
Speaker 3
I didn't wanna come and play with you.
Speaker 1
Well, hey, well, cost is gonna pull me off. So you.
Speaker 7
Never know cost for question.
Speaker 3
This is going down the wrong path.
Speaker 13
Time. Oh my God.
Speaker 3
Are we gonna skip Question Time? Alright, well, we'll go. I'll go quick.
Speaker 12
No, do it. We gotta.
Speaker 1
Do it, do a quick one. You do it on times 10.
Speaker 9
Question Time. Open up your mind and let people know what you think. La La la.
Speaker 12
La La La La la.
Speaker 16
Question and I'm opening up and let people know what you think.
Speaker 1
You're definitely getting better. You're definitely getting better. I think you're getting better. It's when you do it more, you get in the zone, like when you do well. You deserve props. You're doing well.
Speaker 3
I'm trying. Thank you. Real quick, what do you got? Two meal to cook like? If so, if you're having someone over, we're we're going. I'm coming out. I'm coming around for a hot date. You and me, you're trying to impress me.
Speaker 1
When am I? Ohh you're gonna. Like hot dog. What are you gonna make if I'm trying to impress? It's a bit. If it's just you and me, we're. Having chicken tendies or a pizza.
Speaker 3
I don't want you cooking in the nude as well. I don't.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Fair. No, no, no, I'd do. I'd. I'd make it. I'd probably do something a bit bit fancy. Yeah, if I was trying to impress, I'd probably like there's no point going half fast. So I'd probably do something from from scratch. I'd probably do a bit of pasta.
Speaker 3
Want you to say sausage? Oh, here we go.
Speaker 1
Might be a little bit of tortellini or ravioli. For an entree, I'd then do some veggies, do some, do some, either a baked potato or a Mashed potato with some cauliflower, broccoli, carrots. And then depending on, probably do some form of a mini roast. So I'd probably do like a a Turkey or a lamb.
Speaker 3
Right.
Speaker 1
Yep. And then basically get a bit of gravy so you can have a little bit of pasta entree, a little bit of veggies, little bit of roast and some gravy. Put that up and bottle of red and.
Speaker 3
Yeah. I'm yours.
Speaker 1
Maybe I'm not playing with myself this time. Let's go. What about yourself?
Speaker 3
Good, real easy. Good, real easy, simple and I don't know because I'm.
Speaker 7
You give your props, you do do.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Good burgers on Grand final day, but I'm not sure you wanna bring a hot date over and cook the Barbie.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Nah, I made some gnocchi from scratch yesterday. OK, fully like rice and potatoes. We didn't have a rice. So to mash it through and see if that was ****. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah.
Speaker 3
That was really good. Pastas is kind of easy or a good go. To. Made a killer chicken chilli lasagna. Love. I love lasagna. So lasagna and then.
Speaker 1
OK, OK. Are you making a huge I find with lasagna? You've gotta make a ridiculous batch because you're trying to do a small one. It doesn't work.
Speaker 3
Yeah, you got to make a big point. Yeah. Then I'll give. Yeah. Then I'll give whoever it is some to take home because I'm a nice guy.
Speaker 1
Yeah. And then you're gonna.
Speaker 9
Give him something to take home.
Speaker 12
Ah.
Speaker 3
And then as a kid growing up, we had this chocolate self saucing pudding that was amazing. The best thing ever. So I would have to get that and make that as well.
Speaker 1
OK.
Speaker 9
Hi my names Kosha coming over. You gonna? Have some oats and protein pudding. Look at me, please. Cake.
Speaker 3
I'll give you a really good quick hack. Just take 30 seconds. Do you have any? Do you have Mila? No. Alright. Ohh. OK. So if you've got Milo right, get.
Speaker 1
No, because I don't drink milk.
Speaker 3
Four table like dessert spoons of Milo 1234 into a mug. Then get one spoonful of milk, a tablespoon right in. Stir it up right turn it into like a like a soupy. No, just keep stirring or turning like soupy mess. Put in your microwave for about.
Speaker 17
Big stone? Yep.
Speaker 1
Teaspoon. Yep. So it's pretty chunky.
Speaker 13
And I got.
Speaker 3
20 seconds. Three times you.
Speaker 1
So 20 seconds. How long is it off for?
Speaker 3
Just take it out for as long as like, you know, 1010 or whatever.
Speaker 1
Yep. 20 seconds. OK. Yep.
Speaker 13
OK.
Speaker 3
Tried it last night. It's very good.
Speaker 1
Well, maybe you'll have to bring some in next week. We can do like the the Morrow question tomorrow. Review on the Scott Brown brownie.
Speaker
Yeah.
Speaker 3
I put a caramello koala in there, so that's very good. Anyway, let's talk some.
Speaker 1
Nice and healthy.
Speaker 16
Hey.
Speaker 12
This is Franklin.
Speaker 4
This world, this game.
Speaker 3
Alright, we can make up some time here.
Speaker 1
That's alright. We'll burn through this. So obviously some big games this week, none bigger than Friday. Thank God this game is banned cause it's gonna be a rip off, so we've got outs for Collingwood, more injuries for them. But the in John noble. Jamie Elliott Reef McInnes Outgoes Charlie Dean omitted Jeremy Howe injured Brody Meyer check. Injured. So that's two key tools out we were talking about it last week. Mixed day. He's playing VFL this week so we've got no *****, no mixed day. No my check no how? That's probably their 4th.
Speaker 3
Yes.
Speaker 1
All forward, so the only other tools I've got is Frampton, but he has to play back to help out obviously. The Shannon Neal and Jeremy Cameron. So this is literally small ball. They'll have Nathan Krueger down there, but it's going to be hill Schultz, Ned Long, Elliott, Joe Richards, Harvey Harrison. It's really grim for them, but. The cats at the G.
Speaker 3
That's the thing, right?
Speaker 1
At the G. Their back line is playing very well. I got feedback again.
Speaker 3
OK.
Speaker 1
Their backlines flying very well. Yeah, still got feedback. OK, keep.
Speaker 3
OK. Yeah.
Speaker 1
But. Can they handle all these smalls? Because you've got Duncan Stuart Guthrie College, ASI Dekoning Henry. That's a pretty tall backline compared to what the pies are going to be dishing up, so, but I think again, the game will be won in the midfield, so obviously the pies, midfield, Steel bats day with the gooey daycos Pendlebury side bottom day cost crisp, whoever else they want to run through there? Hoskin. Elliott. That's probably about it. Yep, Lipinski, I knew there was one more because the cats midfield, again, is still missing a few, but Dangerfield Atkins homes Ollie Dempsey's playing very well. Boss Jay Clark, like pies, are definitely in this. And Yep, bombers got them at the end last week. But pies, I don't think it's still playing bad. They. As I've said, they've got to hold on. Be close enough till all the players come back. So I really don't like this game at all. It's really tough. I'd lean probably the pies by a pimple, but.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
It could go. This could be anything. Whoever turns up wins, which is the biggest, easiest thing to say ever, but. They're so patchy with their form at the moment, but the cats are probably hotter right now, so that's why when you go to the market, the odds are.
Speaker 3
210 pies, 172 the Caps Internet connect.
Speaker 1
I was just going to say the odds are no Internet connection so good save there. Scott, thank you very much. So that's interesting. I'm going pies. I've got no idea. Really. I'm happy to just give this a full bar lease and thank God no pyramid.
Speaker 8
Robert. Hear me.
Speaker 3
Yeah, I'm kind of with you here after. Hawthorn been playing well. It's obviously jam HBA turned up last week, but for me it's really the pies have to win this game. I just quickly flicked through who they've got left because we're in round 18. It's come, come. It's come very quickly. Yeah. So they've got, I mean, this is no push over here though.
Speaker 1
Seven left, yeah. Yeah, just think 18 weeks ago, I was saying carton gonna be on the slide.
Speaker 3
They got Hawks at the G then they got tigers at the G so you think they went tigers tiger with the key? Should beat boards. Then they got Carlton. Sydney.
Speaker 1
They'll win those two. They'll beat us. I reckon they'll beat us. But, well, that's a Derby. So you never really count that Sydney Taff, obviously.
Speaker 3
That's. Brisbane.
Speaker 1
Yeah, that's tough.
Speaker 3
Melbourne and depending on where which Melbourne it is by then yeah. So they really and where they're sitting night, they really need to win this game. So I'm with you, I don't know, probably a flip of a coin, but because it's at the G and not at gmhba's got to make a tip. So we'll go with Colin.
Speaker 1
Who knows? Yeah. And which? Who knows? Yeah, they need to.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
And two tenths, probably not a bad little bet there, if you like them. So we go to the next game. Sydney N. Excuse me. Sydney North Melbourne 108. Sydney 750.
Speaker 8
OK.
Speaker 3
Ohh my God.
Speaker 1
Excuse me, North Melbourne, so don't mind me so big out. Obviously Isaac Heeney went to court, went to Tribune and went to MRO. Went to appeals, but it. Didn't go to college, so I'll throw that in.
Speaker 3
You can't. You just can't swing your hand backwards like.
Speaker 1
Well, not so not the way things are now, but.
Speaker 3
Just fall to the you're better off falling on the ground as.
Speaker 1
I think the issue with the rule is is like when you listen to the case it was about intent and did.
Speaker 3
I complain to.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Isaac Keeney intend to hit him? No.
Speaker 3
That he said he was taller than him or something. He tried to get his hand away.
Speaker 1
But he didn't. It wasn't Jesse Hogan. I'm gonna turn around and punch in the face, but that's what. That's what he got done for the intent. And I'm like that wasn't intentional, but the rule changed. The start of the year. So he has to go.
Speaker 7
Ohh yeah.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
100% I'm with you because the Jesse thing, they're outraged that he just looked at the guy and punch me in the.
Speaker 1
Aye.
Speaker 3
Place I'm I'm just want to say this because I am a science fan. I don't think he should have been suspended because he's not looking at the player either. He's watching the ball and he's he is trying to knock the player's hand down, but he's missed and hit him in the face. So you you've hit him high.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
And it's it's it's, but it's the other thing, right? So ranking got four weeks because he hit a guy well off the ball. He and he got one but.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
He got a blood nose and he barely went off the ground like crazy. But look big in for North Wardlaw's back. Phillips is out, so that obviously flicks the switch a little bit in North flavour, but Callum Mills is back after his wrestling kostant ski in the silly Sunday and did his rotator cuff.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Anyway.
Speaker 1
Apparently a bigger. Cleaner, stronger caller. Miles. I'm not sure how. That works but. Hey, who knows? So look, he's a obviously a very good player. He's a captain. So he's out there. So Luke Parker emergency still not getting a crack, so.
Speaker 3
I think he gets back in that spot.
Speaker 1
That's what I said too. I don't think he does either, but all it takes is one injury, and he's gonna be there. Yeah. So, look, obviously N are improving. I think N are playing much better football. They have got their structure correct, Charlie. Common in the back line is going very, very well. Brian Tikal has actually been a very good in for them.
Speaker 3
Hand.
Speaker 1
He has helped with that structure because he allows Comban to play in the back line. They don't have to play him forward and they're getting more out of their midfield so Simpkin has left. Food Schiesel has moved into the midfield. It's been fantastic Colby Mckercher back into the backline. He's kicking, is a leak kicking out. Last week was one of the main reasons they won that game and Tristan Cherry has taken his game to the next level. So if you're a N supporter, you got given a bazillion handouts, which West Coast supporters are probably going to be screaming.
Speaker 8
I'm.
Speaker 1
Their where's our handouts? But I think they're on the right track. They're a long way away and 50 games for Tristan. Cherry. He is on the ****.
Speaker 3
Yeah, he's very good. Very, very good.
Speaker 1
So obviously you would like to hope Sydney if they can't beat the Saints, if it wasn't at SCG, you'd be like, well, N will probably go on better than the Saints at the moment. So for mine Sydney just have to bounce back. Logan has to kick straight and their forward line needs to function better. Are the three tools still working with Logan and Marty and McLean?
Speaker 3
That's the question, isn't it?
Speaker 1
Yeah, I don't think it's going as well as the start of the year. They've probably dropped off a little bit from their hot form at the start of the year. But look. They're better than North Melbourne and.
Speaker 3
They'll win convincingly. Yeah, I, I've. I've run on the run sheet. Not a lot to talk about here. I think this is a game that Sydney would have had in to win and win big again, just quickly just for something run home for Sydney Brisbane next week at Brisbane. The dogs are the CG port, Adelaide to Adelaide Oval, Collingwood at the SCG.
Speaker 1
I should win by then.
Speaker 13
I should win.
Speaker 1
That Sydney, Sydney and Collingwood actually have really close games at the G Sorry SCG.
Speaker 3
Ascend in a marvel. Essendon of Marvel.
Speaker 1
Yeah, that's tough. That's tough.
Speaker 3
It's interesting. And then they finish with Adelaide now they are top of the ladder.
Speaker 1
That.
Speaker 3
Now.
Speaker 1
That will be top of the ladder that they're they're well, 8, two games clear. There's no way. Yeah. The percentage is the.
Speaker 3
And that percentage is pretty good. Isn't that 100 and?
Speaker 1
Best in the.
Speaker 3
40 Yeah, this is a.
Speaker 1
League so that they will put it this way even if they finish second, finish top two, you're guaranteed home home finals throughout if you win so.
Speaker 3
Yeah, not much to bring here. I think after the last two weeks. I would not want to be in the rooms with John Longmire after what happened last week. He would have been fuming and heads. I'm surprised didn't roll I I think Sydney win and I'm with you. They win convincing, yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Alright, now interesting game here. It's my boys versus Miltos boys. So it's Hawks versus Freo, so yeah, that's not ideal.
Speaker 7
Because yeah.
Speaker 1
So interesting changes for Fremantle because I I was at the game, obviously wet weather, it wasn't ideal. Yeah, Inns for Hawks. Good Inns for us. James Sicily. Josh ward. Cascadia. Fantastic. Obviously Mitch Lewis injured again. Look. It's like he doesn't even apply for us anymore. When he does play, he can't get kicked the footy or he gets hurt couched. Deer is showing something. He's back. Gunston is managed. Seamus Mitchell out. So Ward gets a bit of a crack into the midfield. He's got good VFL form, maybe start as the sub out for dockers slop dog Darcy. He got a concussion last week. So Patrick Voss in so he will obviously take the Unicorn role. Unicorn will go in the rock, it's make Peel Thunder Meek versus Unicorn, so there'll be some tension there because obviously Luke Jackson came in and meat got shipped out, so it'll be really interesting to see Meeks in good form, but this game will obviously be won in the midfield. Fremantle's midfield has been fantastic. Hawthorne's clearance game is strong. Caleb Serong's form has definitely dropped off from the start of the year. Andrew Brayshaw seems to have taken over. He was huge last week, but. When you're looking at the young midfielders in here, you got Sorong, Brayshaw, Hayden Young, Whirlpool, Newcomb, Ken Mackenzie. It's a really good match up for young Mens and the rock battle is going to be really key for this and Fremantle's key forwards Sicily in is huge for us for this game because obviously.
Speaker 3
Oh yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1
The way it was sort of set up is I. You'd think Frost would probably. Cake. Amos, you'd get scrimshaw on Tracy. Who's going? Fantastic. And the fact that Boss is in Sicily can play on him and zone off. We've got the smallest back there in MP Morrison. Amon, who can take Frios small forwards. So it's gonna be really interesting to see this game goes. I think it's gonna be a good match in Tasso. Gives us hope. Yeah, because Tassie is our mini sort of fortress there. Fremantle seem to be winning anywhere, though they're winning in Darwin. They're winning in Melbourne, they're winning in Sydney. They're winning in Adelaide. So look, this is another close game. I looking at the odds. I think it should be a bit closer, 175 to 208. I think it's throwing a little bit of shade on us.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Last week wasn't great, but it was without Sicily. I'm hoping for a bounce back Frio, very tough to beat at the moment, just the way they're playing because it's in tazzie gotta stick with my guys just, but if Fremantle win, I would not be surprised.
Speaker 3
I'm back in the Hawks here at UTAS. I hey, three are playing well and they played well against Sydney. But after again the Saints, the Saints beat Sydney and.
Speaker 1
Yeah.
Speaker 3
I don't know. Who Frio beaten?
Speaker 1
Sydney.
Speaker 3
They beat Carlton in round four Brisbane in round one.
Speaker 1
Still beat them, said who they beat.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, I know I'm with you. But like, who else are there but like?
Speaker 1
They should have been caught and they got robbed there.
Speaker 3
Yeah. I'm sorry though. Yeah, they did lose the car around four. Sorry. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Yeah, because the the umpire that was with Jordan Clark descent.
Speaker 3
They beat the dogs, but then they got. Smashed by the dogs? Yeah. They then they smashed Melbourne, but that was up north and then they drew. I'm not sold on Freo yet. Hey, Tracy.
Speaker 1
That was off the bye. And I lost a West.
Speaker 8
Ohh look.
Speaker 1
When you say. Sold. I think they play finals, but they're.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, 100%. I think they're, they're good. Yeah. They're not horrible. Yeah, and.
Speaker 1
Not top four. Well, they're better than more teams than they're worse than put it. That way then.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, I guess, but I, but I guess the fixture does. Correlate into the ladder at the moment is that's what frustrates me.
Speaker 8
It was.
Speaker 1
But like cause they finished cause they were so because they were bad last year, they've got an.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, I know. So why wouldn't you plan for like a team? Like, let's say, Colin would now who finished 9th or 10th next year. You're back in there for the flag because they can have the easiest run ever and they're a good side. So I, yeah, I I am backing your team at UTAS because it is a bit of a fortress there. Yeah. They just play really well there.
Speaker 1
Easier draw than the top team. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3
And Frio at UTAS, I heard today were, I think 3 from 13, yeah, or just in Tassie in general. Yeah, I tried really hard.
Speaker 1
1313 yeah.
Speaker 3
Yeah. So, yeah, I'm backing your boys to win that.
Speaker 1
Alright, so we'll go to the next game. We've got two teams coming off stinkers, so we got Western Bulldogs versus Carlton, the dollar 44 carton, 273 dogs. So INS and out. Some in dogs is just wild. What happens at the dogs? So for the dogs, we've got Cody Waite.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 4
Yeah.
Speaker 1
And in Caleb pulled it in out, James O'Donnell out. Norton. So let's just lose 2 tours and put in two smalls. So maybe the the lobster has taken over. So the lobster is now their only key back. So no Liam Jones.
Speaker 3
Ah, good brother.
Speaker 1
So yeah, the lobsters back there with Buku kamas so.
Speaker 9
Why don't they put more in but?
Speaker 1
Yeah, well, he's out, so he can't play when he's out. So.
Speaker 3
Yeah, I know, but it went instead of having not logged back their last game when they got punched.
Speaker 1
Yeah, but it is what it is. So they're missing players everywhere. The dogs, so they're midfielders, obviously still strong, but so is Carlton. So George Hewitt still not back in the side, which is interesting. But the thing for mine is Kernow has been quiet the last few weeks. So he. Obviously, when it was nowhere last week, it was probably his quietest game of the year, but. If he's playing on Rory Lobb, yeah, or Buku kamus. You'd think Lob doesn't have the wheels to go with him, so lob will take either.
Speaker 3
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Mackay or Mackay, or the resting rut cause Tom de Koning's in the air is there, but Pittonet is back. So March back and Pittonet in Mitch McGovern and Ratzlaff vantages omitted. So I told you I couldn't take Carlton seriously if Orazio was in the side. He is now out. Can't win this. They have to. You put that down to rough day at the office you've got.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
A myriad of midfielders. If Georgia can't get a game, that's just crazy. So Elijah Hollands.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 1
Matthew Kennedy, Walsh chair at Cripps Acres. Surely, yeah. And their backline is good. So March bank in for McGovern, obviously a little bit off there, but. Wedding will take Sam Darcy. You know, they'll probably put Brody camp on Hugo Hagen. The smiles will go to work sad and cow and will take like Whitman West and then Nick Newman might be able to run right. So I think Blues. I think Blues bounce back I think. You give always to give a team for one bad one and giants at Giants Stadium or NRG Stadium is not an easy game.
Speaker 8
Yep.
Speaker 1
All because the Giants haven't been going as good as what they have been at the start of. The year so. A tough game so Bulldogs who knows you're you've been sticking fat with them? I've been not as fat at all and I'm off them and I think coming.
Speaker 8
When?
Speaker 3
I think it could be close. I think Carlton probably win this. OK, I think it will be close, though I don't think it's a whitewash and I think Liam Jones is just like a Melbourne backman. Not, yeah, like Leaver, just one of their biggest outs. Yeah. Yeah. Like. Yeah, exactly as you said, like Gov.
Speaker 1
Lever. Well, it's like Gov. Like Sicily.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Just I just wish they had made that change for Norton to go down back and love to say, I know Norton, but I just wish they made.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Change because it's. Screaming out for it. He's a backman. He knows how to play back. So.
Speaker 1
Yeah, we know this, but they had all these forwards. Now they've got Sam Darcy down there.
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah, it's just frustrating. I I mean.
Speaker 8
Now let's.
Speaker 3
I I I I think at Marvel helps the dogs, but I think Carlton will be too strong, so I'm not expecting like a 30 point win or anything like that. I think it'll be close. But I think Carlton will just be too good.
Speaker 1
I think can't win, I think can't win easy. So we go to the next game. Your boys, Adelaide versus Saint Kilda. Adelaide, 145, Saints 269 so.
Speaker 3
Somewhere really.
Speaker 1
OK. What's happening in Adelaide? Wowzers. So we go to that game we have in Riley till Thorpe back in big in for them. Hugh Bond, not James Bond. Hugh Bond is in. Out. Go. You're huge. Yeah. So out goes Mitch, hinge injured and Isaac Rankin. Four weeks. That's a big out.
Speaker 3
New bond? Huge mumps.
Speaker 1
For them, for the Saints, Riley Bonner in Zach Jones in Bradley, who out, personal reasons interesting and Marcus Wind Hager injured. Which is. Yeah, yeah, which is not ideal. So.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
Yeah, four to six, apparently.
Speaker 1
The crows going very tall when you're going foggy, Walker Himmelberg till Thorpe. Yeah, that's pretty tall. So, but the Saints can handle that with Howard Wilkie battle. You're not too worried about this. So again. Rowan Marshall needs to stamp his authority on this game for them to have a chance. It was good to see Phillip hope have a good game last week in the midfield, so be interesting to see if he can keep his form up, but the issue for mine is. I mean, the Crows backline is one of the more depleted backlines. Ohh no the more depleted back lines but who's going to kick your goals makes it very, very tough. So yeah, that's what I said last week you got you got Membri, Cooper, Shaman Machito, Jack Higgins still.
Speaker 3
Need strength to get into me, Gabe gun. I think Adelaide win, by the way.
Speaker 1
Dan Butler and Dan Butler. So I thought I didn't see his name there, but I think for Saints to have any chance, Royal Marshall has to go nuts. And the fact Tom Campbell is not in. You just have to rock the whole game and hopefully you can bring it together, but look at home line in the sand game for Adelaide if they want any chance of doing anything this year. It is still highly unlikely they make finals but they need to win this and if not Matthew Nicks needs to just start playing a whole. A lot of kids, so we'll move on to the next game. This is a. You said this was gonna be a game, not.
Speaker 3
Only.
Speaker 1
To talk about.
Speaker 3
It's not just one point. The only way the Saints can win is if they bring the pressure the whole game like they bought in Sydney. Yeah, the only way they won the games, not skills.
Speaker 1
Same against same against the game at Brisbane.
Speaker 3
Yeah, not skills. Pressure. Bring that pressure. They can win if it comes down to skills. And that pressure is not there. Adelaide win and they'll win by about 20-30 points.
Speaker 1
Yeah, so next game, Melbourne versus Essendon 253, Melbourne 150, Essendon so. The kicker for me here is the location. So we've got obviously Max gone enormous out injured 2 to 3. Harrison petty in. So the rock set up for Melbourne will probably be petty rocking with Van Royen backing up. Interesting. Tom Fullerton didn't play, so he's the came over from Brisbane. Laverty managed for Essendon Heppel back in so centerfield, still not getting a game. Gold stain not back in. Not ducky's boy still in so. Melbourne last week was good.
Speaker 3
Is he happy with that? Is he happy with this saying not his boy hope so you gotta slide from the nuts and I'm just being quiet now. I'm too scared. I'm scared of all of them.
Speaker 8
I don't know.
Speaker 1
I don't know. Well, it's not his boy. So. Yeah. Well, hey, you were saying it was. But I said no. It's not so. So. Melbourne, with their large men competitive so Melbourne. Have been good. The fact that this is the MCG I think is a bit of an equaliser for this game. Obviously, Essendon played much better against the pass the other week and their midfield is on Joi Caldwell dominating Zach Merritt, dominating Sam Durham dominating. Massive their forward line is functioning, the package is there two metre Peters there. Nate Caddy looks a player, Harry Jones is attacking the footy. Langford's good welfare's got a job. It seems like Brad Scott has finally got them playing his brand of football and they are. Going very, very well. This game for me is too hard to call. Yeah, MCG, normally. Leads me to Melbourne, van Royen and Cosy Pickett were massive last week. They need Clayton Oliver to lift, you can tell.
Speaker 3
Colton was pretty good. Colton tolstrup.
Speaker 1
He was he was. Colstrip was good. You can tell Oliver, obviously has no preseason. He's starting to struggle. They need him to lift cause. Vinny and Salem can't carry them for the rest of the season. They all have to stand up but leave it back. May Tom McDonald, the back line is strong. Trent Rivens, the midfield is fantastic. This game is too close to call. Mine MCG that is showing no shade on Essendon. I have Melbourne winning by one point because it's at.
Speaker 13
OK.
Speaker 3
I did like that Ducky did tag me on Facebook and asked if this was good enough that they beat Collingwood.
Speaker 1
Yep, and was and prick props. They did. Well done well.
Speaker 3
Well done, but I still don't think they're good enough. I think Melbourne win this game.
Speaker 1
I think they do too by point cause close but.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
No, I think that we're pulling the point.
Speaker 1
I think that went by one point. That's it, nothing more, nothing less. That's it.
Speaker 3
Let's say that again, just say that. Hold on, go.
Speaker 1
I think Melbourne win by one point. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Speaker 3
Good that that.
Speaker 1
Look at. It.
Speaker 3
You can train next week if that happens, you called it. Yeah. I I just think, yeah.
Speaker 1
I just think they're playing finals now. They got a new mindset, their team's better. Caldwell is huge for them. Cornwell and Durham are taking them.
Speaker 8
Yeah.
Speaker 3
100% But if you shut, what if you shut them down?
Speaker 1
Isis. She got Zach Merritt.
Speaker 3
Eh.
Speaker 12
What do you?
Speaker 3
Mean. Yeah, no. Like one player, yeah.
Speaker 1
Dude, he single handedly won them the game. He that's a lie. He single handedly got them going in the right direction to assist him winning the game.
Speaker
He's.
Speaker 3
I'm with you on those. Zach Merritt is a star, Zach Merritt to me right now is all Australian, right? And and Durham star as well, right? I I'm with you. I just don't think they're game playing when I watch them. And when they just stop and kick and kick and kick. If there's a team good enough to set up to stop them, which I think Melbourne are I I can't wrap my head around. What is going on at Melbourne and it frustrates me because I obviously Patrick is out. And olivers. Yeah. Oliver's cooked, yeah.
Speaker 1
Well, no. Petracca, no Gorn and Oliver's half plate, that's their three best players.
Speaker 3
Yeah, I'm with you. But they can set up behind the ball like lever and may. Like sitting up behind the ball, the ball, the bowl, the bowl.
Speaker 1
I think, yeah. I just think. The Essendon forward lines humming right now, so it's looking good so.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Well, anyway, it'll be a good
